Last night I saw the Hunger Games, and I have to admit that I really enjoyed the book a lot more than the movie. With that being said, I really did feel like the characters where very well thought out and each of them fit their description in the book fairly well.
As far as fashion is concerned, before I watched the movie I read some blogs and articles related to the book and movie and many critics were unhappy with the wardrobe of the Capital.
The Hunger Games takes place in the future, but it is never said how far in the future. The wardrobe of the Capital has been described in the book as funny, and brightly colored, decorative, and so forth. The movie did acknowledge all of those descriptions; however, it is not futuristic as many critics complained about.
I agree that much of the clothing is nothing new to us, and much of it is typical clothing with embellishments. This; however, can not be held against the film makers and wardrobe specialists simply because they as well as we do not know when this futuristic period takes place. It could be the year 2014 for all we know.
Overall, I would say the book is better than the movie which is usually the case, the wardrobe was not spectacular and the characters were on point.
What is your opinion of the movie or the book??
